Bavarian Delegation in Washington and Boston

June 21, 2016

From June 14th to 18th 2016 a Bavarian delegation made its way to Washington and Boston. The group was spear headed by Bavaria’s Minister for Economics and Media, Energy and Technology, Ilse Aigner. The Minister was accompanied by Bavarian state representative as well as Bavarian business representatives.

The goal of the trip was to discuss matters of trade, innovation and experience the Boston startup ecosystem. The agenda was filled with visits of political representatives in Washington and Boston as well as thought leaders within the startup ecosystem in Boston.

General Consul Horlemann welcomed Minister Aigner to Boston and was gifted a piece of Bavarian tradition.
Jamal Halepota was so kind to show Minister Aigner the CIC venture cafe during its weekly networking event.
The delegation lunch on Thursday at the Hampshire house provided its participants with insights on the Difference between US and German VC and innovation landscape by Dr. Scen Harmsen, BASF VC; Charlie Cameron, Cooley LLP; Babak Movassaghi, Recon Therapeutics, formerly Philips Healthcare; Annika Pierson, German Accelerator.

The agenda was tightly packed to have as many impressions and insights as possible, so a free minute to relax your brain was definitely in order when the swings at Hatch were sighted.
There is always some time for a group picture in Lab Central.
Lab Central has been a great opportunity for our delegation to experience the Life Science Sector in Boston.

Head of BioM, Horst Domdey, very much enjoyed his time in his natural biotech habitat at Lab Central.
