Accenture Opens Its First Internet of Things Lab in Munich

April 13, 2017

Accenture has opened its first IIoT Innovation Center in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. With this step, Accenture joins an illustrious group of companies running similar facilities in Munich, such as IBM, Microsoft, Huawei. At the center of Accenture’s new lab is Industry X.0, which refers to reinventing the product, of internal processes, and of the relationship with the customer.

Bavaria Is Turning Into the World’s Headquarter for the Industrial Internet of Things

One of the articles reporting on this new lab published by the German LinkedIn competitor Xing starts with the following sentences: “Berlin may, as a startup town, be hipster, but the money is in Munich. The Bavarian metropolis is the secret (I)IoT/Industrie 4.0 capital of Germany. At the moment, (I)IoT and innovation labs are springing up like mushrooms in Munich.”

Indeed, Munich has seen a tremendous amount of development in this business field over the past three years. The one-pager you can find through this link will present you with both

  1. an overview of these developments and information, as well as
  2. direct quotes from Google, IBM and GE with regards to why Bavaria is the world’s #1 location for IIoT.
