Our inaugural podcast series features interviews with three entrepreneurs who began their professional careers in the US and decided to start and grow their business in Bavaria.
Earlier this year, Erwin Spolders, Alexandra Barton-Sweeney, and Melville Mummert sat down for coffee and a chat with James Mister from Invest in Bavaria-West Coast. All three entrepreneurs spoke about their road to building an international business from Bavaria and what they have taken away from this experience.
These US entrepreneurs all began their careers in consulting, finance, or technology at McKinsey & Company, Goldman Sachs, and IBM, earning degrees and working at prominent institutions like Harvard Business School, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Brown University, and the Yale School of Management. They leveraged their skills and experience to launch companies in the fields of renewable energy, biotechnology, and hi-tech corporate finance. Listen in to find out more about their unique backgrounds — and what convinced them to set up shop in Bavaria — in the podcasts below!
Attracting entrepreneurs and cultivating homegrown success stories are essential to ensuring that Bavaria maintains its competitive advantage as a robust market for growth and innovation. And though the stories of these entrepreneurs differ, there is a common thread: they recognize and value the high return on investment (ROI) when doing business in Bavaria. Dedicating time and effort into building a scalable business model ultimately pays off, because loyal clients and partners and an international growth trajectory are well within sight, right from the Heart of Europe.
